For the next week Zoya is doing a promotion where you order up to 6 polishes for 50% off, then you send back 6 old polishes and they dispose of them for you. This is an amazing deal considering their polishes are typically $8 each. Visit Zoya Nail Polish Exchange for full details.
Tonight I have a lovely textured polish to show you all - here is ‘London’ by Zoya. This one is from their winter PixieDust line - their new summer PixieDust set should be released this month (April 2013)
The Zoya website says not to use a basecoat or topcoat with these colors which saves a lot of time if you want a quick manicure. I used two coats here and got great coverage.
What does everyone think of the new textured polish trend? For me it is like glitter polish- I absolutely love it but because of the extra time needed for removal I probably won’t use it all the time.
Finally got an Ikea Helmer to stash my nail art supplies in. I left out the top drawer so I could put taller items (like remover) into the second highest drawer. In the back of each polish drawer I put small boxes to keep the polishes from sliding around. I am really happy I finally organized them!
For Christmas my lovely husband got me a Butter London set - I was nicely surprised with the base and top coats shown here. I typically use Seche Vite quick dry top coat but the way it shrinks the polish annoys me - the Butter London Quick top coat dries just as fast but doesn’t shrink up the polish underneath. Love!
I also got a few cool glitter polishes that I will swatch soon!
I must admit, I am not a big fan of Thanksgiving. Seeing as I don’t eat meat or dairy, it pretty much grosses me out. Hate to be a buzz-kill for anyone who enjoys it. My bad.
Anyway, I am starting a new job next week which means no crazy nails for awhile. I have been working from home the past year - no dress code, obviously. This also means I will need to wear something other than yoga pants everyday, and maybe consider brushing my hair and wearing mascara.
Perhaps I will focus on amazing new cruelty-free cosmetic brands instead of striving to be the next Chalkboard Nails or Pshiiit. I might go buy some new Nubar polishes now…
